A subscriber to a fashion model
23/Jul/2008

Dokumo (abbreviation of dokusha model) means a fashion model of the fashion magazine who used to be a subscriber to the magazine. There are as many as 80 kinds of fashion magazines are issued in Japan, and each magazine carries its own Dokumo. Dokumo does not limit its model to young girls, because fashion magazine varies its target from under teenager to over 40′s, hence the model can be a grade school girl or even mom.

So how can we be Dokumo? Â
The show introduces how the interview (to be selected as a Dokumo) goes at Cawaii! magazine.
Being kawaii is not enough to be a Dokumo, and being too kawaii is not good either. That’s because Dokumo must be someone close to the subscribers so that they can feel sympathy or affinity.
In that way Dokumo is a little different from “fashion model”.

From a subscriber to a Dokumo, to a fashion brand producer… there’s a successful Dokumo career path that is adored by fashionable young girls.
