Apple shares an interesting diet method that she found from the Japanese fashion magazine she subscribes for. In fact, we, the Japanese, speak about diet all the time. There are always bunch of diet books and magazines at book stores everywhere. New diet method is introduced one after another.

I was reading Popteen December 2010 issue the other day, and I came upon this.
Do you know this cute model, Pikari?
I used to not like her so much because Popteen magazine and all the other Popteen models kept gushing over how cute she was, and I could only see a chubby girl who seemed very much in her own world of cosplay. And, in previous months of Popteen, there was suddenly fashion of cosplay, punk and stuff like that, and I was horrified, because I was afraid Popteen would become like this. It’s not that I don’t like cosplay or punk fashion, but if I wanted to see those fashion, I would read a proper Japanese punk fashion magazine like Kera.
There was a spread on her in one of the past issues, in which Popteen interviewed her, and she talked about her ex-boyfriends, about how much she loves Akihabara, on how she truly wants to be famous, and she also invented some words that Popteen found adorable and encouraged readers to learn it. -_-” I was like, “Ok, come on! You can’t get any more annoying than this!”
Well, anyway, one day, I suddenly saw that Pikari changed!!!!
She became much slimmer and from a cute face, she became a pretty-faced girl. She also wasn’t that annoying anymore (Haha!). She looked completely a different person, and reading her new interview, I felt that she was also much more mature somehow! I started to like her. She’s a very positive girl with very good things to share!!!
So I’m going to share with you how she successfully lost 7kg in 4 months!
I was a very obese girl before and I lost weight successfully in my teens, so I know that when you lose weight, your whole face changes because your face becomes smaller, and suddenly your eyes are bigger and your nose becomes sharper too. It’s like undergoing cosmetic surgery – only, it’s better because it’s all natural, right! Hahaha! So, if you want a major change in your looks now without having to fork out thousands of dollars, why don’t you consider losing some extra flab? ^^ It’s life-changing and really satisfying! Haha!
In the past few months, due to stress, I put on a lot of weight and am now at my heaviest weight in my whole life. T^T When I saw Pikari’s diet, I just knew it would work. It’s sensible and you don’t have to spend any money. It’s just the way one should live their life.
Pikari’s Water Diet!
- Basically, you take 3 meals a day, and these 3 meals should not add up to more than 1200kcal.Â Which means roughly 400kcal for each meal.
- Before every meal, you drink 500ml of water.
- Drink water if you get hungry in between meals.
- Exercise for half an hour everyday.
- Everyday, Pikari does some form of stretching and massaging as well.
- Eat only low-calorie and nutritious food.
- Eat only half-portion of every meal.
And then there are some interesting Q&A from Pikari which I’m going to share with you…
Q: What should I do if I ate too much today?
A: Adjust your calories-intake the next day by taking low-calories food. For example, I will drink a packet of vegetable juice and eat a banana for a meal.
Q: What kind of food do you eat when you’re on a diet?
A: For breakfast, I will have something healthy like soymilk and fibrous cereal. For lunch, I will try to eat something I like while controlling my intake of carbohydrates at the same time. I will eat things like Ramen, Hamburg etc. Even some junk food is OK. For dinner, I will eat healthy vegetables~ And also, tofu, rice, and other low-calorie, high-fibre foods that are gentle to my digestive system.
Q: I want to stop eating so much! How should I start?
A: Â Drink water or lots of soup to fill up your tummy.
Q: How did you keep yourself motivated during your diet?
A: I look at the picture of myself when I’m at my fattest period, and I would think, “I NEVER WANT TO BE LIKE THIS AGAIN! This is not me at all!”
Q: How do you release stress when you’re dieting?
A: I will sing Karaoke at home! With my grandmother!
Q: I want to lose just that 1 more kg! What should I do?
A: I will decrease my calories-intake even further to consuming only 1000kcal a day. You can definitely slim down in this way!
Q: I’ve been successful in slimming down…but I’ve reached the point where my weight just stays as it is. What is wrong? Can I lose no more weight?
A: What Pikari would do is to walk 30mins everyday to increase metabolism rate! Don’t get discouraged. You can do it! ^^
Ok. That’s about it for the parts I feel are relevant to point out. It seems like a sensible plan to me, and I’m going to try this out. Let’s see if I can become a healthy weight again. My ultimate goal is always 39kg. But I think 42kg would be nice. As a reference, my height is 153.5cm. I realise all the Japanese models now are going for 37kg~39kg. It’s really…WOW!
I think I will be recording my progress down everyday in my blog. The food I eat, the exercise I do, my weight every morning and every night. My diet thoughts. Oh! It seems like my blog would become a diet blog for some time. Haha!
Anyway, I can’t wait to feel and look better than what I am now. Hohoho! I shall post my weight-loss results on the last day of 2010 here at TokyoKawaiiEtc!!! (Christmas time might be a tricky challenge to conquer! It’s going to be a test of true determination!)
