@Walter,

Ahahah! :lol:
You drink beer, ride a motorbike, and if you wear kawaii socks, I like that mismatching. In that way you act cool but people just don't know what kind of person you are once they notice your wearing kawaii socks. Funny :razz:

@Dutchie,

Sorry for being late to get back to you, Dutchie.
Your comment refers to cultural difference because you understand both Asian culture and European culture which I should say you're getting used to (?) so, I always find it interesting to read your posts here. :smile:

In Japan, as you say, we take off shoes at the entrance of the house. I guess no Japanese people would disagree with this custom even though many of other things are Westernized. That's because taking off shoes and being barefoot is just so comfortable as well as being able to keep the house clean with no dust from outside! In winter we just wear socks and then wear slippers.

Basically we normally like to wear slippers indoors.
I can see how you'd feel against the dust that brought by the kids to your house. I wouldn't stand with that :!: :sad:

Hi Kirin,

I'm curious how the general japanese population keep their feet warm indoors, during the winter ? R there special sox for it or do u wear house slippers ?

People here tend to walk into other people's home with their shoes on, which is terrible n I hv told them not to do so, especially to my in-laws but my pleas has fallen on deaf ears :-( Sometimes friends bring their kids along n they ran in-n-out the house n track in more dirt .... it just drives me nuts !
