Fry doughnut in a bath?

author Posted by: kirin on date Apr 2nd, 2009 | filed Filed under: Something Interesting
tempra in a bath 300x289 Fry doughnut in a bath? I am a person who enjoys bathing so much. (You can guess that from my post on hot springs or another hot spring or even the post on home bath. :P That gives me a good reason I was born in Japan! hahaha…) So I am even curious about stuff like these in the photos, although I know they are designed for kids.

It was international gift show that I first came across this product back in summer 2008, so I was glad to find them sold at the places like Marui One, Shinjuku. The first photo is a Tempra package, followed by Kushiage in second photo, and doughnut in the third one. Tempura and Kushiage are Japanese cuisine and both for deep fry to eat. One of the good things on these peoducts are that we can get “something” after the “batter” around the products are dissolved. We will never know what will be the “something”. That’s fun. :)

Don’t worry, they are not edible! :lol: They are, sort of, solid bath agent. Once they are thrown into the water, they make bubble before the batter part dissolve. (This batter part is a bath agent.) This process is just like when we fry Tempura, Kushiage, or doughnut. If you have little kids, I think you can enjoy bathing with them with toys like this. I’d enjoy myself being totally childish once in a while.

I’d love to try doughnut most, because I think the doughnut, which one of doughnut I can get is for noone to know but, is the cutest. Here’s the image for your better understandings. ;)

So any opinion? Funny or stupid? Whatever! :lol:

  1. milkberry Said,

    Hi Kirin! I think they are called ‘Bath Bombs’, and even Lush have then. In Loft, there are bath bombs that have special おまけ too. I personally don’t really like them because they are expensive but can be used only once haha. I usually buy a whole jar of ‘crushed bath bombs’ so I can spoon in how much I want each time. It’s more economical for me :D

  2. kirin Said,

    @milkberry,

    Yeah, as you say, they are rather expensive. So I will pick out just one of them to try, maybe… :razz: As for Lush, I don’t like it so much because of too strong scent. But yeah, as you say Loft is a good place to browse something interesting like this. Thanks for the comment! :wink:

  3. Dutchie Said,

    Hi Kirin,

    The assorted donuts does look yummy n cute :-)

    Here we hv bath salts in bottles of all shapes. The salt r packed layer by layer in colours of the rainbow. They were given to me on my birthdays n so far I didnt use them, except as a nice decoration on my bathroom shelves. I prefer to use scented foam in my bath bec the foam makes my skin very smooth n silky.

    I hv read abt beer shampoo in Japan – hv u ever tried it ?

  4. CuteBoo Said,

    Oh,they looks so yummy,I would buy them if I could!
    And Lush…oh I love Lush,we got our first Lush Shop last weekend here in Bremen/Germany…yeahhhhhhhhh :mrgreen:
    Have a great weekend my friend!

  5. kirin Said,

    @Dutchie,

    Beer shampoo!? Oh you mean this?
    http://www.bathlier.com/SHOP/400015.html

    OMG it says originally produced in Austria, (and we’ve just imported, right?!) The production company is as you can read, “Haslinger” according to the sales website. As I read through the article, it’s said, in Austria or Germany it’s common for long time to use shampoo that contains beer!! In that case, as you live in Holland, you may have friends who are familiar with this kind of products, huh?

    Anyway, thanks for the interesting topic! :lol:

    @Cuteboo,

    Hi, cuteboo thanks for your comment. Oh you’re from Germany. Then are you familiar with beer shampoo as Dutchie mentions above? Have you or your family ever used it?

    It’s so fun to see & chat with people from various part of the world! :) :) :)

  6. Dutchie Said,

    Hi Kirin,

    I didnt know that the Austrians r selling beer shampoo too !

    Hv a look at http://www.mikesblender.com dated 17 March 2009 – u would probably be surprised – haha.

    The doughnuts look too real :!:
    can you keep the kid from eating them ?
    But I’ll have to miss out on that , because I only shower at my place. I didn’t install a bath because it uses much more water and is more of a strain on the environment.
    Unless you wash first and bath Japanese style , using the bathwater for the washing machine, like you, Kirin.

    The beer shampoo is interesting , though ( I’m from Belgium, the kingdom of beer ) and apparently most beer shampoos come from Germany
    I also found these

    ( how to make your own )
    http://www.ehow.com/how_4453781_make-beer-shampoo.html
    and somehow I wandered onto the German Tuula site
    where I found bath muffins :grin:
    http://www.tuula-seifen.de/index.php/naturseife/Kakaobutter-Bade-Muffins/detailed-product-flyer.html

    a range of real pretty colourful natural soaps
    http://www.tuula-seifen.de/index.php/naturseife/Seifen/Zeige-alle-Produkte.html

    and cacao butter “pralines” with a real flower pressed into them
    http://www.tuula-seifen.de/index.php/naturseife/Kakaobutter-Bade-Muffins/detailed-product-flyer.html

    Unfortunately it’s all in German ( which I speak fluently but perhaps you don’t :oops: ) so I’ll translate the cacao butters for you
    white chocolate truffle
    strawberry sorbet
    papaya
    lemon-lime
    ginseng-jasmine
    green cedar wood
    They’re all cacao butter mixed with etheric oils

    It almost makes me wish I had a bath so I could try them out. :cry:

  8. kirin Said,

    @Dutchie, and @Walter,

    Thanks for introducing me an interesting post on that blog.
    And Walter, thank you so much for sharing how to make beer shampoo at home, as well as sweet looking soaps & your translations. (This is your second comment and don’t worry about the other ones. ;) )

    Well I may try to fix my own beer shampoo some time. :razz:

  9. Walter Said,

    I seem to have pasted the wrong link in my comment :oops:
    the cocoa butters are here

  14. Saint Said,

    I got the donut type when I was in Japan in September. It’s so cute. But I can’t use it because my american bathtub is so small ! haha

    @Saint,

    Thanks for your comment.
    Wow, you actually tried this stuff! Cool!! :cool:

  16. Jen Said,

    I have used the donut one. I love it! I like childish things in my adult world. It makes life a bit more interesting. I’ve gotten similar “bath bombs” and I take the little toys into work and display them on my desk.
