Hi Elaine. Cath is my friend too. :)

If you travel to nearby prefecture such as Chiba, Kanagawa, Gunma, Tochigi...there are mountains and farms. http://www.oyakudachi.net/ranch_wildlifepark/kant... http://www.rurubu.com/season/spring/bbq/list.asp?... http://iko-yo.net/facilities?region_ids%5B%5D=3&a... http://allabout.co.jp/gm/gl/9581/

All links are in Japanese. Do you have anyone who helps you with language? If you desperately need help, you could hire me to plan your holiday. I can ask what you want and search information in Japanese, plan your holiday and book your hotel with a fee, if you want. Contact me from the contact page if you need to discuss more. Thanks!

Hi, I was introduced to your site by a friend, Cath and I wonder if you could recommend a kids friendly hotel in the outskirts of Tokyo. I would like to introduce my kids to nature, like the mountains, farms etc and is looking for a nice place near Tokyo for a 2-3 nights stay.

@Walter,

Walking dog everyday is really good for health and for a change, especially after I work several hours on computer. :wink:

@robert-Gilles,

Thank you! I'll check out your blog more often. :razz:

@milkberry,

This is public onsen but we can reserve for 40 minutes or so and that means during that time, nobody can come + share it.
There are hotels or ryokan which locates outdoor onsen each room, but they cost sooo expensive! But if you choose something like this (reservation for exclusive use) you pay less while you enjoy yourself not bothered by others.

This small hotel costs very reasonable. Only 16000 yen or so for 2 adults per night including dinner & breakfast, and 1000 yen for dog. But I have to tell you this is the hotel designed for dog & dog owners, which means they offer wonderful service regarding dog but on the other hand they miss something good for human. (eg. the beds were too hard, very small room with no hot water, only cold water, etc.) So if you do not take your dog, you can select this type of onsen hotel with low budget anywhere. Also, this small hotel serves Western meals, so in your case, I believe you want Japanese style, don't you? :wink:

But for your reference, the hotel name is
ペンション　アニマーレアネックス
http://www.p-animale.jp

Have you checked out じゃらん? http://www.jalan.net/
Do you or your hubby have problem in understanding what's written in Japanese? I always pick up the hotel to stay from this service. I can save points, which allows discount at the next hotel, deleting the point from the total cost.

If you really need my help for Japanese, I may be able to help you personally as you live in east Japan, too. So in that case, please contact me personally from the contact page above. :smile:

:smile: She look totally relaxed in the last picture there !
At my parents home we used to have a dog ,that was a cross between a German Shepherd and a Scottish Shepherd ( slightly smaller than a shepherd but the colors of a collie )
She died when she was 14 years old. I took her for long walks most days ( good for your health ! ) :wink:

@Gina Alfani, @Dorothy L,

Thank you for your comments. I'm glad and really surprised to be able to have responses from many people. :grin:
I was thinking that I can share the cuteness of my little dog, Pi-chan with my blog readers, but I somehow couldn't find the opportunity until now. :wink: In the near future I think I will try to update Pi-chan videos on Youtube, hopefully!
